Back Creek Kids

Children are important to God, and they are important to us!

At Back Creek, we believe children are not just the church of the future - they are the church of right now. Our church is an uncommon community - a family of families - and that includes the littlest among us. That leads us to some strong priorities regarding children:

Safety

We want Back Creek Church to be the safest place in Mecklenburg & Cabarrus Counties for our kids to be. Our standard is a secure environment where the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of every child can flourish. To that end, each of our paid staff and volunteers undergoes a background check and is well-trained and equipped to nurture and serve little ones. We also have processes and procedures to ensure that our Nurseries and KidsMin spaces are safe, secure, and well-staffed at all times.

Back Creek Church uses Ministry Safe to train and equip all staff, volunteers, elders, and deacons.

Real Hope

Jesus said that we should become like children if we want to enter the kingdom of heaven. The humble and complete trust of a child is the kind of faith that saves - and at Back Creek Kids, we want to partner with parents in teaching children that real hope is found in a trust relationship with Jesus. Kids go through a lot, and we want them to know that God is there for them, that he is there with them, and He loves them.

Deep Connection

Our goal is connecting kids and families with the hope of the gospel. We want our kids to connect deeply with God, with our church, with our neighbors, and with what God is doing among the nations. By the time they graduate from Back Creek Kids into Student Ministry, our hope is that each child will already be a growing follower of Jesus who has publicly professed faith in Christ. To that end, we provide several environments where children are taught God's Word, connect with leaders and one another, and learn to serve together.

Full Engagement

Since children are part of the church, we believe they belong with the worshiping community. Children who have graduated from the nursery are welcome and encouraged to worship in "big church." If that means a little more noise or distraction during the service, it's a small price to pay for the life-giving presence of kids. Before the message, children 2nd grade and younger are dismissed (if their parents desire) to Kids Worship. We have Worship Bags available for all children with an illustrated bulletin, crayons, and paper in the church foyer.

Wide Reach

No one is too small to connect others with the hope of the Gospel. We encourage our kids to invite their friends, to serve our community, and to bless the nations.
